Streetlight Intelligence Inc. ("SLQ") is pleased to report that it has received an order for a complete LumenIQ™ Adaptive Street Light System from the BC Ministry of Transport. This system is comprised of 12 LumenIQ™ lamp controllers and will be installed at the Francois Lake ferry terminal in the community of Francois Lake in central British Columbia.
"This installation is great news for SLQ, as it represents our Company's first "commercial" implementation through the BC Ministry of Transportation," states Vince Krynski, CEO of SLQ. "It is the direct result of a LumenIQ™ trial by the ministry at a highway rest stop in Bradner, BC, which has been in place and operating successfully for approximately two years now."
On September 23 2009 the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Shirley Bond and MLA for Nechako Lakes, John Rustad announced a comprehensive initiative to save fuel and electricity, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent. The Lumen IQ™system is an example of an environmentally-friendly technology that can be implemented as part of this comprehensive initiative that will result in greater energy efficiency, operational efficiency greenhouse gas reductions, and set an example for ferry operations in and other transportation corridor sites in Canada.
"Our Lumen IQ™ adaptive street lighting technology provides the Francois Lake ferry terminal with full control of its street lighting and provides it with the ability to reduce its energy usage by as much as 40%," continues Krynski.
