Lumen IQ™ Stand Alone Street Light Controllers
The Lumen IQ™ is a stand alone street light controller ideal for areas where lighting schedules are expected to change infrequently (such as industrial parks, residential subdivisions, etc.) or other applications where the robust and feature-rich Lumen IQ™ Street Light Management System may not be necessary.
The Lumen IQ™ lighting controller measures the light output from the street light bulb and intelligently manages the power input to the ballast in order to optimize light levels. Through intelligently managing the light output, significant performance and efficiency gains can be achieved to street lighting infrastructure:
- Significant energy savings while maintaining optimal light output and public safety;
- A corresponding reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the energy efficient system;
- A reduction in light pollution, as the bulbs are optimized to perform to design specifications from the day they're installed;
- Increased lamp life, reducing maintenance costs and inventory requirements dramatically.
With minimal technical expertise, Lumen IQ™ light controllers can be quickly retrofitted to existing street light fixtures or ordered from us fully-integrated into new fixtures (factory installed and tested at our facility before delivery).
The stand alone lighting controllers are delivered pre-programmed to our client's specifications. If required, they can also be re-programmed at any time by the client by using a Lumen IQ™ Commander and a standard RS45 connection.

Components
The Lumen IQ™ Stand Alone Street Light Controller is comprised of three components:
- A microprocessor that performs all lamp control functions. The microprocessor mounts to the underside of the lamp fixture and can interface via a standard RS45 connection with a Lumen IQ™ Commander for in-field programming (if necessary).
- A real-time lamp sensor;
- An advanced, intelligent photocell.
The Lumen IQ™ Stand Alone Street Light Controller is a 100% solid-state device with no relay contacts to chatter, burn or pit. It performs reliably at locations with higher vibration, such as on bridges and in tunnels.
How It Works
Based on data from the lamp sensor, the microprocessor continually monitors and adjusts the lamp performance so that it meets the adaptive lighting protocol requested by the client.
The photocell, or "day/night sensor" features a number of proprietary technologies that enable it to be more accurate and easier to orient for optimal performance. It is also programmable to accommodate minor adjustments for localized ambient lighting.
Proprietary Anti-Cycling Feature
When a bulb begins to cycle incorrectly, the Lumen IQ™ Stand Alone Street Light Controller automatically cuts the power to protect the lamp fixture's electronics and eliminate any additional energy waste.
